Citrix Workspace (formerly known as Citrix Receiver) is an app commonly used to launch Citrix application. While some organizations may configure the app to access Citrix application directly, others may deploy the app to be called upon after selecting the app to launch through the web interface. The screenshot below is an example from the Safari browser.
If you are not presented with an option to use Citrix Workspace after pressing on a Citrix application, the fix is pretty easy. Within the restriction payload, be sure to check off next to Allow documents from unmanaged sources (i.e. Safari) in managed destinations (i.e. Citrix Workspace).
On a particular iPad, however, pressing on the link Open in “Workspace” doesn’t necessarily launch Citrix Workspace promptly.
On the other hand, pressing More… follow by Copy to Workspace always open the app promptly.
For testing, I removed the restriction profile and afterward pressing on the same link does launch Citrix Workspace promptly. I then began investigating this issue further to see what setting I might have missed within the restriction profile.
After repeated testing, the Citrix app will launch promptly if I also check off next to Allow documents from managed sources in unmanaged destinations. This doesn’t quite make sense to me but it does work.
