‘12007 The MDM server is not authorized to perform this operation’ upon issuing a device lock command in VMware AirWatch console

For some reason, I was not able to issue a device lock command from my AirWatch web console to my corporate-dedicated iPhone. The troubleshooting log also revealed the error below.

Upon discussing with VMware support, I re-enrolled the device with the same ownership type. Afterward, I was able to lock my device remotely with the command.
