One of the greatest strength with Blackberry Access is the ability to access internal web resources, such as corporate Intranet, without complicated setup such as Per-App VPN tunnel. In my case, we use Aderant Time On The Go which is a web application for entering both billable and non-billable time right from Blackberry Access. However, requiring users to enter the long URL below each and every time would definitely diminish the adoption rate.

With this in mind, I proceeded to publish it as a bookmark within Blackberry Access. The steps involved are somewhat unexpected as you will see shortly.

Within the app configuration of Blackberry Access, scroll down to Push Bookmarks (Netscape Bookmark File Format) under the General tab.

Instead of entering the URL in the usual format (i.e. http://www.hello.com) in this section, you need to structure the bookmark(s) in a specific format similar to the below. In particular, each bookmark URL is written as <DT><A HREF=”URL”>Name</a> (remember HTML?)
